CFWC Approved Projects

  • Colorado Boys Ranch (www.coloradoboysranch.org ) The Colorado Boys Ranch Foundation mission is to achieve excellence in providing troubled youth with the means to become hopeful and productive citizens.
  • HOBY Colorado Corporation (www.hoby.org) HOBY recognizes young people are our greatest resource and works to restore faith in leadership among students. HOBY programs connect students with ethical and socially conscious business and government leaders who, by example, inspire students to regain confidence in current leadership and encourage them to become future leaders who will make a difference. HOBY teaches students to view leadership as "giving back" to the community and challenges them to take responsibility for remedying the social problems of the day. Mentors demonstrate how students can use their leadership abilities for the betterment of society. HOBY is unique among leadership-oriented organizations in that its focus is less on teaching basic leadership skills and more on integrating and applying these skills along with critical thinking techniques. Thus, the emphasis is on teaching participants how to think, not what to think.
