The Colorado Federation of Women’s Clubs is a volunteer organization of 21 clubs, with approximately 350 members. The Colorado Federation is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Membership in the CFWC is a result of membership in a local women's club that is a Colorado Federation member.
Our purpose is to unite all women’s clubs in the state, whose purposes are not partisan, political or sectarian, for mutual helpfulness, mental and physical culture and the promotion of an ethical social system.
All women of any age who are members of a local women's clubs, and that club's purposes are germane to the purpose and the objectives of the State Federation may belong.
The officers of the Federation are elected biennially and include: the President, President Elect, First Vice President, Recording Secretary, and Treasurer.
The CFWC is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of the elective officers, the District Presidents, Past Presidents of the CFWC Federation, Chairmen of Departments and Divisions, Standing committee members, Special committee chairmen, Staff of the Colorado Clubwoman, and all Presidents of the clubs of the state.
You might ask who pays for all this work? The answer is the good old American custom of being a volunteer. NO OFFICER OR CHAIRMAN of the GFWC of CFWC receives compensation. Some travel expenses are paid, but no salaries are in effect. Women are the ministers of light, where others light their candle.
